Replacement is the last resort
Your Windshield Is Vital To the Safety of your vehicle

You need to keep your original windshield. The windshield is acritical safety device in your vehicle. It saves your face, head and neck in an accident. Your airbag cannot properly deploy without it. While an OEM windshield must meet Federal Safety Standards, those standards don't apply to the aftermarket windshields. Investigations by national networks found 80% were basically defective and could lead to serious injuries in a crash. For more information on the dangers of aftermarket windshields, see the YouTube video "Danger Before Your Eyes". My repairs using Ultra Bond products will preserve your OEM Federal Safety Standards, being stronger than original.

Aftermarket Installers Don't have to Meet Factory Specs

Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) windshields have to meet strict specifications from the vehicle manufacturer. Those specs are not shared with aftermarket windshield manufacturers. Aftermarket windshields have built-in stresses around the edge area, and when combined with physical and of temperature changes stresses they edge crack easier, more often and more severely than your OEM windshield. Replacing your windshield with another OEM windshield might not help. Even the OEM manufacturers cut back on their manufacturing standards for aftermarket windshields. Repairing your cracked windshield instead of replacing it will preserve a higher quality windshield. Windshields with cracks up to 14 inches long usually can and should be repaired. Otherwise, you may be compromising your safety.

Don't Replace, Repair your edge crack instead

Most cracks in a windshield are an often repairable edge crack (up to 14" long). The edge is the weakest part of a windshield. This is because stresses are built-in during the manufacturing process, and because of physical stresses. It is important to repair your edge crack before it spreads, is infiltrated with dirt or delaminates. I use Ultra Bond's specialized resins to eliminate the edge crack and save you a lot of time and money.
